TIME TO BOYCOTT CONTAMINATED GMO BABY FORMULA IN THE U.S.

Parents have a right to know what is in their milk and or soy protein infant formula. As a newborn my mom gave me a soy based baby formula because she did not want to breastfeed and I was allergic to milk. Mom made mashed potatoes one evening, two pots since I was allergic to milk. By accident she fed me the potatoes with milk and can still recall that I was sick 20-minutes later with a high fever.

Three major brands of milk that contain GMO’s are Similac, Enfamil, and Gerber. These three products include ingredients such as soy, or milk from cows injected with rbGH.

Gerber was founded in 1927. Today in South Africa, the baby formula from this company is reported to be GMO-Free yet here in the U.S. we continue to have our newborn babies given this even in the hospitals. Infant formula today remains a multi-billion dollar market.

There was a global boycott of Nestle due to the many infants that died in third world countires. The mothers would water down the formula with dirty water. The formula becoming nutrient deficient. In 1994 Gerber merged Sandoz Lab, who later merged with CIBA-Geigy. Today, it is one of the largest pharm companies in the world after forming Novartis. Nestlé Group, bought Gerber for a reported $5.5 billion back in 2007.

Nestlé Group owns Neslte water, Pelligrino, Perrier water, and they continue to purchase land throughout the world to increase water rights. We have always heard that the one that controls the water will control the world. Monsanto seems to control the food and Neslte has the water covered. It is time to take a stand and stop purchasing products from these global corporations.

Similac contains GMO soy in their formula. Abbott Laboratories founded in 1888, makes this infant formula. Back in 1985, this company developed an HIV screening test. They also make EAS which are nutritional supplements, ENSURE meal replacement. They are a major drug company for RX meds for diagnoses such as Chrohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, HIV (Norvir), Synthroid (thyroid hormone) just to name a few. Abbott Labs has many lawsuits filed against them including birth defects, Androgel which are testosterone replacement drugs. Lawsuits are still pending on many cases.

Enfamil Newborn Ready-To-Use Infant Formula advertises as kosher and packed with nutritional benefits. Other brands may advertise eye and brain development yet are we ever really reading the labels? All that means is that there is added DHA & ARA (Enfamil calls this LIPIL) – on the Enfamil can you look for A+. DHA/ARA and fatty acids such as fish oil, algae, fungi that are contained in formula has no nutrient value.

Parents beware of the long list of toxic GMO ingredients Vegetable Oil, Soy, Whey Protein Concentrate, Soy Lecithin, Carrageenan, Vitamin B12 Niacinamide, and Inositol.

ENSURE ORIGINAL GMO INGREDIENTS: Corn Maltodextrin, Sugar, Soy Oil, Soy Protein Isolate, Canola Oil. Corn Oil, Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Soy Lecithin, Carrageenan, Liquid Sucralose, and Soy Ingredients.

Ensure Clear contains 18 grams of sugars per serving.

INGREDIENTS TO LOOK OUT FOR:

Carrageenan = cancer causing often found in flavored coffee creamers.

Cyanocobalamin = Food Manufacturers use this as a cheap form of vitamin B12 which will bind the vitamin to a cyanide molecule. It is basically a By-product which is found in many multivitamins.

Soy Oil = GMO soybeans

Boycott those three major brands and try preparing your own homemade baby formula for your infants. These harmful ingredients cause OBESITY, DIABETES, and almost immediately nutritional deficiencies in babies.

Ensure = bottles are made with Polyethylene (LDPE), #4 plastic is used to make the Hi-Cone carriers. These are non-leaching plastics.

CAUTION: Celiac / Gluten Free Diets beware of these two ingredients:

Maltodextrin = Food additive (a filler) created by using corn or potato starch in the U.S. Outside of the U.S. wheat and or barley is used to make maltodextrin. The starch in water is boiled and mixed with acids and or enzymes to make a white syrup powder called maltodextrin. You will find this ingredient in granola bars, cereal, sports drinks, chips. Dextrin = In the U.S. is made from tapioca, wheat, corn, arrowroot, rice, or potato used as a binder. You will find in glazes, coatings, and batters. Yellow Dextrin = not food grade, but a water-soluble glue.

Polydextrose = a fiber filler made from sorbitol and glucose both a GMO. We can not digest this filler, yet it is found in almost every processed food. It will be advertised as “high in fiber” and is found in many cereals. A review of the studies of the safety of polydextrose in food. Abstract Author Burdock GA and Flamm WG :

“At high enough levels of ingestion, this bacterial metabolism results in flatus, bloating, loose stools and ultimately a frank diarrhoea. Microbial metabolism also produces some volatile fatty acids that are absorbed by the animal and have calorigenic value. The species and dose threshold for persistent loose stools/watery diarrhoea determines the degree of electrolyte loss by the animal. In the dog, an obligate carnivore, sodium-sparing activity by the kidney and concomitant and obligatory calcium reuptake result in a well-defined aetiology of hypercalcaemia and subsequent nephrocalcinosis, particularly for PD-N. Of the species tested, the dog was the most sensitive to this carbohydrate with a no-effect level of 2000 mg/kg body weight/day. Omnivores, including the rat, mouse and monkey, have a no-effect level ranging from 2500 to 10,000 mg/kg body weight/day. No toxicity has been demonstrated in man, although the dose for laxation (to be distinguished from diarrhoea) is approximately 90 g/day (v. sorbitol at 70 g/day). Polydextrose did not show any reproductive toxicity, teratology, carcinogenesis, mutagenicity or genotoxicity. Polydextrose has been approved for food additive use (21 CFR 172.841) in the US, and an “ADI not specified” by the Joint WHO/FAO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA, 1987). It has been approved in over 50 countries around the world and has been used extensively in the diet for over15 years. Specification monographs are published in the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) (NAS, 1996) and the FAO Compendium (JECFA, 1995). This review provides an overview of the studies and salient data, not previously reported in the scientific literature, which had been submitted to regulatory agencies in support of these approvals.” Reference: PubMed 1999 Feb-Mar ;37(2-3):233-64.

Try breastfeeding as Vitamin A lowers child’s risk of death from common diseases. If you can not breastfeed try these GMO Free brands, all free of soy lecithin and corn syrup.
